On Monday, October 31, Watchung School will hold its annual Halloween parade and Fall classroom celebrations beginning at 9:00 am for grades K through 3.

Costumes: All students should come to school in their costumes prepared for the morning routine; however, students should not enter the building wearing costume masks. The least amount of make-up to represent the costume is also appreciated. Time will be given for the students to adjust their masks prior to the parade. Our student population begins with kindergarten aged students so please keep in mind that scary costumes can have a lasting impression. Also, no plastic weapons, such as swords or guns, will be permitted at the school for the parade.

Parking: Please be mindful that parking is limited and observe street signs where parking is limited or restricted. Please do not park on Howard Ave.

Parade Route: Grades K-3: Howard Avenue will be blocked off and the students will parade on the street between Fisher and Woodland. Parents can view from the playground or school fields.

Classroom Celebration: The classroom celebrations will begin promptly after the parade for approximately 45-60 minutes. Space is limited in the classrooms so only the classroom parents will be permitted to enter the building through the main entrance where name tags will be provided. We are unable to accommodate siblings so please make prior arrangements. If children do not celebrate Halloween, an alternative location and activity will be provided. Please inform your teacher if you do not wish your child to participate prior to Oct 28th.

Additional Information: Following the classroom celebration, students will change into regular school clothes for the remainder of the day. Please send a bag labeled with your child’s name which is large enough to hold their costume.
